The Hartland Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new member recently. Chamber Ambassador Dr. Mike Merkt, The Specific Chiropractic Centers – Lake Country (left) presented Nick Mathias and Tom Grimmer of On Point Fitness Club with a membership plaque from the Chamber. On Point Fitness Club trains their clients to use their bodies the way they were intended to be used; this concept is called transferable training. Ryan Bailey is the Finance Director/Treasurer for the Village of Hartland, WI. He is also the Village of Hartland Ex-Officio Board Member for the Hartland Chamber of Commerce. He has been Finance Director/Treasurer at the Village of Hartland since November of 2011 and has been a Board Member with the Chamber of Commerce since 2014. Ryan has lived in the Lake Country area his entire life. He grew up in Pewaukee and graduated high school in 1998 from Waukesha North. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, and from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2007 with a Master of Science degree in Accounting. In 2010, he successfully passed all portions of the State of Wisconsin exam to become a Certified Public Accountant.

Prior to his time at the Village of Hartland, he was a Senior Accountant/Lead Auditor for the audit firm Baker Tilly, formerly known as Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, for five years. After that, he was the Accounting Manager for the City of New Berlin for two years. Ryan has always enjoyed working in the public sector, and loved the appeal of working for a community like Hartland.

Outside of his professional career, time with his wife, daughter and family is what Ryan cherishes most. He is also an avid sports fan. He enjoys attending or watching just about any sport. All through his childhood years he played soccer, baseball and basketball. Nowadays, he enjoys playing golf during the warm weather months and bowling during the cold weather months.


Karl Scheife started Competitor Awards & Engraving, Inc. in 1990, out of his home. Over the years, as the company grew they relocated several times before landing in Hartland in 1998. Competitor has grown from a small home-based business to a retail awards, printing and engraving company that serves much of southeastern Wisconsin. Currently they employ five full time employees, and occupy a 3,700 square foot building on highway 83 in North Lake, WI just four miles north of Hartland. In 2008 they also began, a web based business offering printed and engraved plates to OEM manufacturers. They offer a full line of awards, plus complete engraving and printing services.

Karl lives in the town Merton with his wife, and three children. As long-time area residents they are committed to the Hartland area, both professionally and personally. Karl is a 19 year member of the Hartland, Lake Country Rotary Club, a member of the Monches Rec Club, and a member of St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Rubicon, WI. He spends his free time with his family, hunting, fishing, playing softball and golf.
