MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER AMBASSADOR – DR. MIKE MERKT

Dr. Mike Merkt is the owner of The Specific Chiropractic Centers – Lake Country. He stands for a world where everyone has the ability to do what they want to do and be what they want to be. He has a true passion for helping people of all ages as he gives families hope of a healthy future rather than them being a result of their current health condition. Dr. Mike grew up in Oconomowoc, WI before moving to Minneapolis to complete his Doctorate in Chiropractic. Outside of the office he enjoys working on cars and motorcycles, riding motocross, and hanging out with friends and family on one of the areas many lakes. The Hartland Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new member recently. Ambassador Nick Miller of Lake Country Bed Barn (right) presented Chris Henson of Mobile Repair Guys Henson Service LLC with a membership plaque from the Chamber. MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER BOARD MEMBER – EDIE PETERSEN

Edith Petersen is an attorney at Langer & Petersen LLC in Hartland, a local law firm that practices in a wide variety of areas, including family law, trial work, estate planning, real estate and business law among other areas of practice. Edith has been practicing for 26 years and has worked with her partner, Timothy Langer, for the last 17 years. Langer & Petersen has three offices, in Hartland, Watertown and Wauwatosa.

Edith invites you to give her a call with any legal questions or concerns which you may have – she is always willing to chat for a few minutes to discuss your legal concerns. She prides herself on being attentive to her clients and empathetic to the reasons that bring them to her office.

Edith is a resident of Watertown where she lives with her husband, Patrick McCarthy and with two of her three sons. Her eldest son just moved out to attend college in Stevens Point. Her family is active, enjoying outdoors activities including camping, skiing, hiking, boating and attending lots of soccer games.

Edith has had the privilege to serve the Hartland community on the Chamber of Commerce Board Directors over the past 17 years on two different occasions. She enjoys the opportunity to be involved in the community and take advantage of the benefits that the Chamber affords local business owners.

MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER AMBASSADOR – DR. BRANDON MEYE

As one of the specialists at Lake Country Health Center – Dr. Daniel Murray & Associates, Dr. Brandon Meye believes in finding and treating the cause of a problem and not just the symptoms. He believes that an accurate diagnosis, paired with a tailored treatment plan, produces amazing results. His focus is to get you back to doing what you love. He is certified by the National Chiropractic Board of Examiners to utilize physiotherapy modalities that include electric muscle stimulation, cold laser therapy, decompression traction, and rehabilitative exercise. He has also completed postgraduate hours to be certified in clinical nutrition and fascial movement taping techniques. As a product of Lake Country, he is very excited to take care of and give back to the community that helped mold him.

MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER BUSINESS OF THE WEEK – HARTLAND VILLAGE MART, INC.

Mike Badani has been the owner of The Hartland Village Mart since November of 2007.  He has been in the convenience store business in Southeastern Wisconsin for 42 years.  Mike firmly believes that his relationship with people – vendors, suppliers, employees and his customers – is what drives his business.  Just like “Cheers” – when you walk through the door, everyone knows your name!

The Hartland Village Mart offers superior customer service and one-stop shopping.  When you stop in for gas, you can treat yourself to coffee & fresh bakery, pizza, an assortment of beer and liquor or grab a gallon of milk to take home.

The Hartland Village Mart is a proud supporter of our local community.  Mike serves on the Hartland Business Improvement District Board and WPMCA (Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association.)

MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER AMBASSADOR – DR. KELLY NEWMAN

Dr. Kelly Newman is a general dentist at Generations Dental. She joined her father in practice at this location 4 years ago and is happy to be working in a family business that has served the Lake Country area for over 28 years. She also spends time working for Children’s Hospital at one their dental clinics a couple days a week. Kelly stays active in dentistry as a member of various dental organizations such as the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Wisconsin Dental Association. She has also recently joined a dental study club to improve her skill and knowledge base while growing collaborative relationships with other area dentists.

Kelly grew up in Hartland and is so happy to be back living and working in such a wonderful community. She has had the pleasure of being an Ambassador for the Hartland Chamber of Commerce since late 2013. She is also one of the co-founders of Launch, Lake Country’s Young Professionals Group, which was formed in 2014. She volunteers and participates in many activities around town. Even though she spent most of her life in the area, she has found her involvement in the Chamber and Launch to be invaluable in getting to know many community members on both a personal and professional level.

When she isn’t working, Kelly keeps active with her husband, Randy. The couple participates in an adult ski race league and enjoys spending time outdoors. They have a daughter, Josie, and a son, Zeke.

MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER AMBASSADOR – NICK MILLER

Nick Miller has been an Ambassador for the Hartland Chamber since February of 2016. He is the Co-Owner of Lake Country Bed Barn with his wife, Elise. They started their business in the historic Business Improvement District of downtown Hartland in March of 2014. They opened a second location in Waukesha in December of 2016.  Lake Country Bed Barn is a local, family owned Symbol Mattress wholesale retail store. What they strive to do differently, is to give accurate information and knowledge on what certain mattresses can do for your body health. We spend 1/3 of our lives in bed (or we should) and this is where our bodies rest, recover and heal. Lake Country bed barn carries mattresses in all comfort levels and price ranges to meet their goal of giving everyone that comes to them a “Good Morning”!

Nick and Elise were nominated for four awards at the April 2017 Hartland Chamber Kudos Awards Dinner, and were very grateful to have been awarded the 2016 Entrepreneurs of the year award. Nick looks forward to continuing his work not only as a chamber ambassador, but also by volunteering anywhere he can on chamber committees and at chamber events.
