MEET BOARD MEMBER, RYAN BAILEY

My name is Ryan Bailey and I am the Finance Director/Treasurer for the Village of Hartland, WI. I am also the Village of Hartland Ex-Officio Board Member for the Hartland Chamber of Commerce. I have been Finance Director/Treasurer at the Village of Hartland since November of 2011 and have been a Board Member with the Chamber of Commerce since 2014. I’ve lived in the Lake Country area my entire life. I grew up in Pewaukee and graduated high school in 1998 from Waukesha North. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 2002 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, and from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2007 with a Master of Science degree in Accounting. In 2010, I successfully passed all portions of the State of Wisconsin exam to become a Certified Public Accountant.

Prior to my time at the Village of Hartland, I was a Senior Accountant/Lead Auditor for the audit firm Baker Tilly, formerly known as Baker Tilly Virchow Krause for five years. After that, I was the Accounting Manager for the City of New Berlin for two years. I’ve always enjoyed working in the public sector, and loved the appeal of working for a community like Hartland.

Outside of my professional career, time with my wife, daughter and family is what I cherish most. I’m also an avid sports fan. I enjoy attending or watching just about any sport. All through my childhood years I played soccer, baseball and basketball. Nowadays, I enjoy playing golf during the warm weather months and bowling during the cold weather months.

MEET HARTLAND CHAMBER PRESIDENT, KARL SCHEIFE

Karl Scheife started Competitor Awards & Engraving in 1990, out of his home.  Over the years, as the company  grew they relocated several times before landing in Hartland in 1998.  Competitor has grown from a small home based business to a retail awards, printing and engraving company that serves much of southeastern Wisconsin.  Currently we employ five full time employees, and occupy a 3700 square foot building on highway 83 in North Lake, WI just 4 miles north of Hartland.  In 2008 we also began machineplatesonline.com. A web based business offering printed and engraved plates to OEM manufacturers. We offer a full line of awards, plus complete engraving and printing services.

Karl lives in the town Merton with his wife, and three children.  Long time area residents we are committed to the Hartland area, both professionally and personally.  Karl is a 17 year member of the Hartland, Lake Country Rotary Club.  A member of St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Rubicon, WI.  I spend my free time with my family, hunting, fishing, playing softball and golf.
